I just got through the worst natural phenomenon I’ve ever been through, including Gran Manan’s hurricane of ’94.
A second walk around revealed this damage to Miranda:
The bulb was burned out and the covers are cheap and easy to find. Looks like I got off easy.

When you get on the roof look closely at the skylights, mine was cracked in one corner. My AC fins were completely flattened and looked like a sheet of aluminum foil instead of fins. I spent hours making them back into fins again. a “fin comb” didn’t work. I used a nail file and the end of a hair comb to pull out the fins. I hope you have little if any damage.
Happy you and Neelix are OK. A wire brush works well to straighten A/C fins. Just start above in a good area and brush down thru the smashed fins. I’m still worried about the solar panel, though.
L…good tip on the wire brush. I will have to try that next time we get hail.
This is off the subject, but I have a very, very good friend who was adopted and she had tried and tried to locate her birth mother. I was talking to her today and she mentioned that her mother was front Willow Ridge but there is really nothing there and I mentioned Willow Bunch but she didn’t think so. What are the oldest people living there. She is over 60 and I have her mothers name but would prefer to private message you with that. If she was still alive, she would be in her late 80’s. Is there anyone there that is that age or have been around there to know some of the history. It would mean the world to her. Thanks
Wow…nature having a fit. Hope the roof and solar panels are okay. Even rain on an RV is loud so hail would definitely be deafening. Hugs.
Very scary! I’m so glad you are OK!
CHeck your siding & roof for dimpling — where the hail hit. If your siding has dimples, you may be able to pop them our yourself. Check you tube on how they do that on cars. The roof is would be the hardest fix. If the hail was fairly small hail — like end of your thumb size, you’re probably OK.
Bigger than that, check really carefully.
We get about one good hail storm a year here. About every 3-4 years, it’s a replace the roof on the sticks and bricks storm. We’d been married about a year and lived in a mobile home when we had a BAD hail storm at 5 AM. It broke 24 window panes. You should have seen the cat climb “B’s” bare legs and up to his shoulders. The cat had reason since a big hail stone hit his tail. LOL
BTW, maiden voyage was fantastic!! Good time. We had a bit of trouble trying to unhitch the pickup when we got it parked at home. God bless Walt, a fellow RVer for coming over to our rescue.
My truck has a few minor dimples on it, but the motorhome seems fine except for the light covers that got busted. Thank goodness!
